SmartChem® 450 Automated Discrete Analyzer
Multi-Parametric Analysis of 450 Tests per Hour
The AMS Alliance SmartChem® 450 Discrete Analyzer is a fully automated, wet chemistry, direct read platform for photometric and electrochemical analysis. It offers a throughput of up to 450 tests per hour with optional pH/Conductivity/ORP analytical and Nitrate sample preparation modules. It can load up to 100 samples, controls and calibrators and 72 different reagents.
Together with its intuitive and easy to learn software platform, SmartChem® 450 provides full flexibility and power to increase the productivity in your laboratory.
When paired with the optional samples and reagent barcode readers and ready-to-use reagents, the instrument operation is simplified and does solely require to program the instrument's work routine, reducing hands-on operation and any possibility of human error.

How it Works
A True Discrete, Direct Read Measurement System
SmartChem® simplifies your laboratory's work in a short series of steps:
- Load samples and reagents in your SmartChem®
- Set up your test
- Load your work program in the SmartChem® software
- Launch your programmed routine
- Get the results
Additionally, SmartChem® cuvettes are being washed after each use, making them available for the next reaction/measurement and reducing your dependence on consumables and their availability.
System Components
The SmartChem® 450 is supplied with a set of 12 wavelength filters, ranging from 340 – 880 nm, allowing 9 to be mounted on board simultaneously; this allows for visible spectrum photometry. Photometric analysis can be paired with pH/Conductivity/ORP testing via built-in module.
Available Configurations
The instrument is modular allowing you to configure your analyzer.
Reagents
Ready-to-Use Reagents
We offer a full range of enzymatic and colorimetric reagents dedicated to our SmartChem® range of discrete analyzers.
Developed, tested and validated by our application laboratory, they guarantee perfect stability and reproducibility of your analyses.
Very easy to use, they are liquid, supplied in specific bottles made for SmartChem®, and automatically detected by the barcode reader (optional). This ready-to-go solution simplifies the preparation of your analysis and facilitates the use and storage of reagents. It also secures your analyses with reagents adapted to your application and your instrument.

In-app Support for Troubleshooting
The “Need help?” section contains a detailed library of content, including video instruction and how-to documentation to solve many common issues that users may encounter. This saves operators time, allowing them to quickly move on with testing and other procedures. The media library is automatically updated upon a new startup if connected to the internet.

Improved Support Communication
A common challenge for support is identifying the root cause of an issue. If a user cannot find a solution among the guides provided by the software, a button at the bottom of the page called, “I can’t find a solution: generate a system help file” is available. Clicking this button opens the System Help File page, allowing the user to generate a snapshot, which includes all the information needed for the support engineer to identify the problem. In addition, it is easy for the operator to also share an event log with a support engineer. These features allow issues to be resolved quicker so that operators can get back to their daily routines
