National Sales Manager - AMS
This position will be responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling the sales of assigned brands to optimize profit and meet sales, financial, and corporate growth by performing the duties listed within. This position reports to the Director of Sales.
Territory: United States and Canada (distributor)
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the sales of the company's products and services in their designated territory. Each territory has an associated sales objective.
- Annually increases orders to match the company's growth objectives.
- Maintains accurate knowledge of assigned product lines.
- Use consultative selling processes to understand the customer’s requirements.
- Comfortable to provide presentations to groups up to 30 people.
- Provide accurate data for inside sales to generate a quote or independently generate a quote.
- Competency to perform product demonstrations in the applications lab and help customers in the field.
- Be a front line contact for issues in the field and work with service to provide solutions (post installations).
- Grow business with existing customers and prospect to find new customers or markets.
- Continuously maintain accurate information in Salesforce.
- Update management on important projects.
- Provide management market information and conditions.
- Create an annual plan and generate personal MBOs.
- Drives specifications of our products and services.
- Provides reports to management upon request.
- Proficient in MS Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Self motivated to efficiently plan travel to customers and regions - 50-60% travel is expected.
- Ability to travel to Europe (Italy to AMS HQ) so passport is required.
Experience
Five to seven years of related experience and/or training in capital equipment sales. Chemistry and lab equipment is preferred.
Language Skills: English
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Education
College or university program certificate: Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Work Environment
Work is performed in an office environment. Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking. Frequently requires standing, fine dexterity, sitting, and handling. Occasionally requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching. Driving.
Typical on-site activities will be in manufacturing plants, food processing plants, chemical laboratories, and universities where personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required while on-site. While performing customer on-site visits, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, climb ladders and cat-walks, and use hands and fingers to operate computers and analytical equipment.
